Icicle Bicycle Club (IBC), Leavenworth’s middle school and high school team ended their season strong. “We had a number of new riders to the team that have really grown and excelled in the sport. We’re as proud of them as we are the race winner”, said Travis Blue, IBC coach.
At the State Championships at Squilchuck State Park on Saturday, June 2nd, 31 of the 39 registered team members raced. Eight team members placed in the top 4 in the race in their respective categories. Sisters Isabel and Caroline Menna placed first, in their categories earning them the “State Championship” title. In addition, five of team members placed in the top 3 in the overall series, winning multiple races throughout the season. Icicle River Middle School held on to their 1st place team ranking for the race and earning it for the series. What a season!

Stella Johnson took 2nd in the race, and 1st overall for the series - Advanced Middle School Girls
Edie Walker placed 4th in the race - 8th Grade Boys/Girls
Olen Johnson placed 2nd in the race, and 2nd overall in the series
Greer Swoboda placed 2nd in the race, and 3rd overall in the series - 7th Grade
Isabel Menna placed 1st in the race, 1st in the series and was named a State Champion - 6th Grade Girls/Boys
Caroline Menna placed 1st in the race, and was named a State Champion
Mia Dreis placed 2nd in the race, and 3rd overall in the series
Jonas Johnson placed 3rd in the race, and 3rd overall in the series - Team
Icicle River Middle School placed 1st in the race, and 1st overall in the series
In addition, Tobin Walker (9th), Brendan Fallon (8th) and Aiden Tuttle (8th) raced in the 21st annual Bavarian Bike and Brew on June 1st. Tobin placed 2nd in Cat 2, Boys 18 and under, while Brendan and Aiden placed 2nd and 3rd, respectively in Cat 3, 11- 14.
